Printed Frosted Film in Dubai: A Guide to Glass Privacy and Branding
A glass meeting room can look open and welcoming while leaving people inside feeling exposed. Printed frosted film gives the glass a soft, translucent finish and adds your company logo, brand colours or decorative artwork. THE RPS LLC produces custom printed frosted film in Dubai for office partitions, reception doors, meeting rooms and retail interiors, with in-house printing and professional installation.
This guide explains how to choose the coverage, prepare your artwork and measure the job before requesting a quotation.
What is printed frosted film?
Printed frosted film is a self-adhesive film with a frosted-glass appearance and graphics printed onto its surface. The frosted base diffuses the view through the covered glass; the printed design adds colour and branding. It is applied to the existing glass, so you can change the appearance without replacing the panel.
A printed company logo looks different from a logo cut out of frosting. Printing adds ink to the frosted material. A cut-out design removes sections of the film and exposes clear glass. If you prefer that look, compare our custom cut frosted logos before choosing your finish.
Choosing the coverage for office glass
Start with the purpose of the glass, rather than the artwork. For a meeting room, consider the sightline of someone seated inside and someone walking past. For a reception door, consider where the handle sits and how visitors approach it. These details help determine the height and position of the film.
| Coverage | Suitable application | Design consideration |
|---|---|---|
| Privacy band | Office partitions and meeting-room glass | Keep clear glass above and below; position the band around the sightlines that need screening. |
| Full panel | Rooms needing more visual screening | Plan the artwork around handles, frames and any areas that must remain uncovered. |
| Decorative coverage | Reception areas and retail interiors | Use colour and pattern while deciding how much of the glass should remain clear. |
Frosting improves visual privacy, but it is not a blackout finish. People close to the glass can still create visible shadows or silhouettes. The result depends on the chosen film, lighting and distance from the glass. If privacy is critical, assess a sample in the actual space before approving production.
Company logo printing on frosted glass
A restrained layout often works well on office glass: a logo at a comfortable viewing height, enough clear space around it and a supporting pattern that does not compete with the branding. With several panels, the design should also work across the frames. Avoid positioning small lettering where a frame interrupts it.
Provide your logo as a vector PDF, AI, EPS or SVG file where possible. Include your brand colour references and the dimensions of each glass panel. A colour sample is useful because the frosted base and the light behind the glass can affect the appearance of printed colours. We check the layout before printing and confirm the appropriate production method for the selected film.
If the priority is transparent glass with printed graphics, consider ultra clear glass stickers. For a design specifically using white ink, see white ink printed frosting. These products offer different effects and should be chosen around the intended appearance.
How to measure printed frosted film in square metres
Film is supplied on a roll, but a finished glass project is measured by the area covered. Record the width and height of the film required for each panel in metres, then multiply them.
Covered area (m²) = width (m) × height (m). A film section measuring 1.2 m wide by 2 m high covers 2.4 m². Three equal sections cover 7.2 m². For a privacy band, use the height of the band rather than the full glass height.
Label each panel on a simple drawing and note handles, frame edges, doors and obstructions. Supply separate measurements for different panels. We check roll width, layout, trimming allowance and any joins before production; a total area alone is not enough to plan the installation.
What affects the price of printed frosted film?
The starting price shown on this page is indicative. Your final quotation depends on the covered area, film specification, artwork, printing, cutting and installation requirements. Removal of existing film, difficult access or a layout spread across many small panels can also affect the work involved.
Send the panel measurements, a photograph of the glass, your artwork and the installation location. Tell us whether you need supply only or installation as well. We will confirm the applicable pricing basis, inclusions and production schedule in the quotation.
From artwork approval to installation
We first review your glass photographs and dimensions, then prepare a layout showing the film coverage and artwork position. Once approved, the graphics are printed in-house and the film is finished to the agreed panel layout. Before fitting, the installer checks the glass surface and plans the alignment across doors and partitions.
The installation method follows the selected material requirements. Careful preparation, positioning and edge finishing matter as much as the artwork. Ask us to assess exposed glass or unusual surfaces before ordering so the film and adhesive can be selected for the application.
Care and future replacement
Follow the care instructions supplied for the installed film and allow the adhesive to settle before cleaning. Use the recommended gentle cleaner and a soft cloth; avoid abrasive pads and scraping across the printed surface. Pay particular attention to the film edges.
Service life depends on the material, installation, sunlight, cleaning and exposure. A branded interior partition and an exposed shopfront will not have identical requirements. If you plan to rebrand later, discuss removal before ordering. Existing film may leave adhesive residue that needs suitable cleaning.
Frequently asked questions
Can you print a company logo in colour on frosted film?
Yes. Company logos, brand patterns and colour artwork can be printed on a suitable frosted film. Share your vector logo and colour references so we can check the design and confirm the print specification.
Does printed frosted film provide complete privacy?
It screens the view through covered glass while allowing light through, but it does not provide a blackout effect. Silhouettes may remain visible, especially near the glass. Choose the coverage and assess a sample according to the privacy needed.
Should I order frosted film by metres or square metres?
Provide each panel’s width and covered height in metres and the total covered area in m². Film comes on rolls, but the finished project depends on area, panel layout, printing and installation. The quotation confirms the pricing basis.
Can I order custom sizes for doors and glass partitions?
Yes. The film can be prepared for your panel dimensions or a chosen privacy-band height. Send measurements and photographs so we can check frames, handles, roll-width limits and any required joins.
Is printed frosting the same as a cut-out frosted logo?
No. Printed frosting adds ink onto frosted film. A cut-out logo exposes clear glass where the film is removed. Printing suits colour branding; a cut-out design creates a clear-and-frosted contrast.
Will a printed logo look the same from both sides of the glass?
A single printed logo viewed through the reverse side may appear mirrored, and the film can affect its colour and visibility. If readable artwork is needed from both sides, discuss a double-sided window sticker construction instead.
Do you offer printed frosted film installation in Dubai?
THE RPS LLC offers professional installation in Dubai and can discuss projects elsewhere in the UAE. Share the location, glass photographs and dimensions so we can confirm access, scope and scheduling.
What do I need to send for a quotation?
Send your logo or artwork, each panel’s dimensions, photographs of the glass, the preferred coverage and the location. Include whether you need installation and any existing film removal.
