Reverse Frosted Graphics in Dubai: A Guide to Clear Logos in Frosted Film

A glass partition can provide privacy and still carry your company identity. Reverse frosted graphics achieve this by leaving the logo, lettering or pattern clear while covering the surrounding area with frosted film. The result is a transparent design within an etched-look background, rather than a frosted logo placed on otherwise clear glass.

What does “reverse cut” mean?

For this product, reverse cut describes the negative-space design: the logo shape is removed from the frosted film so the glass inside that shape remains transparent. The frosted background stays on the glass. It does not automatically mean that the film is installed on the reverse side, or that the artwork is printed backwards. Installation side and the main viewing direction are agreed separately.

When reviewing your artwork, specify which parts should stay frosted and which should become clear. A simple proof showing both areas avoids confusion before production.

Planning office glass privacy and branding

A mid-height frosted band can screen desks and seated occupants while leaving the upper glass open. A larger panel gives more coverage. The right layout depends on sightlines, room use and the position of the clear cut-outs. A large transparent logo creates a larger opening, so it should not be placed directly where privacy is most important.

Frosted film diffuses the view through the covered areas; it does not make every room completely private. Silhouettes may remain visible, particularly when someone is close to the glass or the room is strongly backlit. Clear cut-outs remain see-through from both sides. Review the design under your actual lighting before approving a privacy-critical application.

Artwork that cuts cleanly

Send a vector logo where possible, such as an outlined PDF, AI or EPS file. Include your preferred logo width, panel measurements and any existing brand guidance. We check thin strokes, small lettering and narrow gaps because details that look good on a screen may be difficult to cut and apply at a small size.

Simple marks with enough space between letters usually work better than dense artwork. For repeated panels, use an agreed alignment line so the band and logo positions remain consistent. Door handles, frame edges, seals and hinges need to be marked on the layout. We confirm practical artwork adjustments with you rather than guessing at the finished appearance.

How to measure reverse frosted film in m²

Measure the width and height of the film coverage for each panel in metres, then multiply them. For example, a band 1.2 m wide and 0.8 m high covers 0.96 m². Five identical bands cover 4.8 m². Record each panel separately when dimensions differ.

Use the total coverage area for your initial enquiry. The clear logo openings are not normally treated as an automatic deduction from the quoted area: material usage, cutting, weeding and installation still depend on the whole layout. Material and production choices

The core material is self-adhesive frosted film suitable for the glass and intended environment. Available finish options are confirmed against the chosen material, so a particular shade or texture should be checked before ordering. For a colour accent alongside clear cut-outs, request a printed-and-cut option and provide the colour artwork.

Decorative frosting creates an etched appearance without physically etching or sandblasting the glass. It should not be treated as a glass-strengthening, security or solar-control product unless a separately specified film has the relevant performance documentation.

Installation, cleaning and future changes

Film needs suitable, clean glass and a carefully planned installation. Share site photographs, panel dimensions and access information so we can assess the work. Installation schedules are confirmed after artwork approval, material selection and a review of the site requirements.

Follow the care instructions for the selected film. Avoid abrasive cleaning tools and unnecessary scraping along the cut edges. Film can often be removed for a future rebrand, but adhesive residue, removal effort and substrate condition vary. Check your lease or building requirements before making changes to glazing.
