Double Sided Window Stickers

Double-sided window stickers let one glass panel communicate in both directions. A customer outside can see a promotion while someone inside sees a different message, yet the finished installation remains one clean, layered sticker.

What is a double-sided window sticker?

It is a custom printed vinyl graphic with artwork visible from both sides of the glass. The recommended construction uses a front CMYK print, an opaque white or blockout layer, and a second CMYK print. The centre layer separates the designs and helps prevent unwanted show-through.

Can the front and back artwork be different?

Yes. Both sides can carry the same branding or completely different artwork. A shopfront could advertise an offer to people outside while the interior-facing side shows opening hours, wayfinding or a brand message. Text and logos must be prepared in the correct orientation for the selected installation method.

CMYK, white ink and the blockout layer

Standard colour ink alone is not sufficiently opaque for two independent designs on clear film. The white/blockout layer gives the colours a stable base and separates the two faces. Coverage is planned around the artwork, especially where pale colours, fine lettering or transparent areas are required.

Inside-glass or outside-glass installation?

Inside-glass installation protects the printed surface and can be suitable for street-facing windows when the glass and artwork permit it. Outside-glass application may be required when tinted, mirrored or laminated glass affects visibility. Site lighting, glass type, access and viewing direction should be checked before production.

How to measure and prepare artwork

1. Measure the visible glass width and height in millimetres.
2. Note frames, handles, locks and gaps that must remain clear.
3. Supply separate front and back files at the same finished size.
4. Outline fonts and include linked images.
5. Mark the intended viewing direction and installation side.
6. Add a cut path when a custom shape is required.

Double-sided glass stickers work particularly well for retail windows, mall kiosks, cafés, showrooms, office doors, reception glazing, seasonal promotions and event spaces. Double-sided window sticker prices: calculating square metres

Window sticker quotations use the total printed area rather than a standard small, medium or large piece. Multiply each panel’s width in metres by its height in metres, then add the areas of all panels.

Example: a panel measuring 1.2 m × 2 m covers 2.4 m². Three panels of that size cover 7.2 m². This is the glass area; the quotation must also account for layered printing, cutting, material and installation. Confirm whether a quoted rate includes both printed faces of the same sticker.

Pricing depends on total printed area, vinyl specification, white/blockout coverage, same or different artwork, custom cutting, quantity, site access and installation. Small decals may begin near the indicative product price, while full shopfront panels require a measured quotation. Send the panel size, quantity, site photograph and artwork for accurate pricing.

Production and installation process

1. Brief: confirm size, viewing direction and campaign purpose.
2. Artwork check: review resolution, orientation, cut paths and white layers.
3. Printing: produce the CMYK-white-CMYK construction.
4. Finishing: trim or contour cut and quality-check both faces.
5. Installation: clean the glass, align the graphic and apply it carefully.

Care and removal

Clean the installed sticker gently with a soft cloth and non-abrasive cleaner. Avoid scraping the edges or using harsh solvents. Removal depends on the adhesive type and installation period; removable film is preferable when a campaign has a fixed end date.
